The Problems with the “Master Jesus” Wikipedia Article

THE WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE ON “MASTER JESUS” ON THEOSOPHY IS INACCURATE, and does not portray the philosophical teachings of Modern Theosophy. The Ascended Masters Teachings should not be defined as part of Modern Theosophy. If any self-identified individual, or organization is promoting that Society’s literature and ideas with their own New Age teachings, than it is not anything Theosophists would have associated with, or permit to represent their ideas. It is very important to separate the differences between the “Ascended Masters Teachings” and what theosophy meant in antiquity, the minds of its thinking, and its attempted revival by the contemporaries.

  1. These ideas are not of Theosophy, but adaptations.
  2. Avoid attaching the ideas of the “Great White Brotherhood,” “Spiritual Hierarchy” (tends toward an ideal of esoteric autocracy), and other terminology to Theosophy.
  3. It makes Theosophy seem like a sectarian religion.
  4. There is no such thing as “orthodox Theosophy.”

The Wikipedia article states:

“The Master Jesus is regarded by Theosophists, was regarded by Alice Bailey and was later regarded by students of the “Ascended Master Teachings” as the Master of the Sixth Ray. (…) they believe that the Master Jesus is still the Chohan of the Sixth Ray and that Maitreya is still the World Teacher.”

Perhaps, Alice Bailey and crew believed that. It’s not the theosophist’s understanding.

The “Master Jesus” concept is not a theosophical idea.
