12 Radical Teachings of Jesus That American Christians Have Abandoned

KRISTI BURKE ON 12 RADICAL TEACHINGS OF JESUS THAT AMERICAN CHRISTIAN HAVE ABANDONED

Kristi Burke presents a very great case against Christian nationalist thinking in the U.S. and its very damaging and dangerous rhetoric. She speaks also about the cleric and Episcopal bishop of Washington, Mariann Budde, who recently defended immigrants and LGBTQ+ children during a service at the National Cathedral — pleading with Trump to have mercy on them. Trump aired his frustrations on Truth Social, demanding an apology from a cleric! and calling Mariann Budde a “Radical Left hard line Trump hater” who is “not very good at her job” (‘I Am Not Going to Apologize’: The Bishop Who Confronted Trump Speaks Out). It should be noted that these similar words the bishop gave to Trump were the same given to Biden, and at every Inaugural service, and in this case, in the face of a narcissistic ruler hiding behind religion. “Christian” Trump supporters took to social media to make fun of her appearance and call her a heretic.

I want to fight to get rid of the belief or notion that the United States is a “Christian Nation,” through scholarship, through old and new arguments by reason, and challenge those who believe we are, were and should be a “Christian Nation.” These beliefs need to be confronted head on.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dominique Johnson is a writer and author of The American Minervan created years ago and changed from its first iteration as Circle of Asia (11 years ago), because of its initial Eurasian focus. The change indicated increasing concern for the future of their own home country. He has spent many years academically researching the deeper philosophical classical sources of Theosophy, Eclecticism and American Republicanism to push beyond current civilizational limitations. He has spent his life since a youth dedicated to understanding what he sees as the “inner meanings” and instruction in classical literature, martial philosophies, world mythology and folklore for understanding both the nature of life and dealing with the challenges of life.
