Everything about Satan in Theosophy, Three Article Series.

𓄂𓆃

In the dark crevice of popular culture’s misguided hysteria, Theosophy and Occult Philosophy has stood falsely accused of teaching and even practicing Satanism, Devil-Worship, or Luciferianism. Wisdom is inverted and defined by its lower aspects through a grueling inductive reasoning. These poor charges born from ignorance and Christian belief conflate profound esoteric symbolism with crude literalism and traceable mythological-literary creations. Far from venerating a malevolent entity, visionary pioneers like Anna Kingsford and Helena Blavatsky reveal Satan as a tragic, multifaceted archetype: the “Shadow of Light” embodying cosmic polarity, the generative Logos of matter and spirit’s eternal dance, and the double-headed Dragon symbolizing the unity of good and evil in human evolution and Nature’s equilibrium. This series of mines begins with Jewish philosophical theology then Christian Hermeticist and Theosophical perspectives on the true and ancient meaning of Satan, as opposed to its Christian reconstruction. The three articles delve into Kingsford’s visionary teachings on Satan’s redemptive role as the Great Illusion and what this means metaphysically, before culminating in the poignant tragedy of the adversarial dragon.

I invite you to move beyond conventional theological dualism’s pitfalls and embrace a monistic wisdom that liberates humanity from fear and ignorance, fostering self-mastery over base passions and a philosophical depth in our understanding of the nature of the world from a reinvigorated positioning. This series explains the oft misquoted line, ‘It is “Satan who is the god of our planet and the only god”,’ attributed to H.P. Blavatsky, but never explained by those misusing it, in the attempt to slander and mislead people from actually understanding THEOSOPHY — positions, which we argue are still the most powerful legitimate threat to Christian positioning against ancient philosophical traditions it claims victory over, or still demonize. This inability on a “popular” mass level to move past what are certainly infantile understandings of Religion has been a deeply problematic obstruction in a very long mission in the gradual promulgation of truths about nature and its laws ever pertinent to the advancement of humanity, key to the defeat of the phantoms of Religion.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dominique Johnson is a writer and author of The American Minervan created years ago and changed from its first iteration as Circle of Asia (11 years ago), because of its initial Eurasian focus. The change indicated increasing concern for the future of their own home country. He has spent many years academically researching the deeper philosophical classical sources of Theosophy, Eclecticism and American Republicanism to push beyond current civilizational limitations. He has spent his life since a youth dedicated to understanding what he sees as the “inner meanings” and instruction in classical literature, martial philosophies, world mythology and folklore for understanding both the nature of life and dealing with the challenges of life.
