VARIOUS OPINIONS ABOUT WEISHAUPT’S PHILOSOPHY RANGED FROM anarchist to secular utopian, republican, and philanthropist (see Buzz Feed Unsolved: The Secret Society of the Illuminati). The fact however is — Adam Weishaupt is a Protestant thinker, and his beliefs or system can be studied within the context of Idealism, personally engaged in a blend of rational mysticism and morality with empiricism. He professes belief in God, the immortality of the soul (palingenetic) and the doctrine of Resurrection as natural to Man.
Weishaupt confronts these through secular reasoning, incorporating contemplation of these in the degrees of the Illuminati. I recommend an investment in these forthcoming volumes to speed along American research in The Collected Works of Adam Weishaupt: Volume One translated by Jeva Singh-Anand and Paul Ferguson, and edited by Josef Wäges. We should all commend the translations and work of these three. We who all aspire to greater inner development and genuine association in a time we are more at liberty than those before us to explore as the result of their sacrifices and labor, do not wish forever to be on the defense in a world that refuses to listen. Time will come to teach, so long as we never give up the spirit of learning in ourselves.
