It is crucial to warn that you do not diverge into certain logic shared in Fascist Philosophy, or you have made a mistake and must circle back again very quickly. I urge, that you stay steady on the path of Republican Philosophy. However, for development of actual knowledge about Fascism, I have made an exact list on here of all the key elements sufficient for the task. You should work to build an original analysis of Fascism, define its rhetorical ideals and its development. Do not merely rely on generative artificial intelligence, the first two sentences of the dictionary, or on second and third-hand sources. Study their influences directly and what sources they drew from, and what figures were they reacting to and interpreting as they saw it themselves in the same manner given in general preferential analysis of Marxism, Socialism and Communism. Do not cut corners or exclude depth in your analysis of Fascism, specifically within a context of “Third Way” as they called it, or Third Positionism.
FASCIST LIMITATIONS IN THE INTERPRETATIONS OF ANCIENT THINKERS AND THEIR INFLUENCES
I. Fascism and National Socialism are not the same system; and
II. Fascism and Republicanism are not the same system,
But Republicanism and Fascism share
i. a claim to the “heritage of the universal idea of Rome”
ii. roots in ancient Roman and Greek Stoicism.
Fascism provides an incomplete metaphysics and imperfect interpretation of its influences, whereas Republicanism is a composite lineage of the original thinkers, from which many derived their influence, interpret and continue building upon. Mussolinian Fascism is definitely now a system of doctrines (in Mussolini’s ideal is a religious conception) — racial, political and metaphysical. Despite its early definitions of the nation, consistent with a multi-ethnic history of Rome and Mazzini’s conception of nation, it eventually fully embraces the time’s Scientific Racism in its laws or doctrine, which is not Mazzini’s vision, or Rome’s reality and history since its very early inhabitants. The Fascists could not themselves adhere to their own romanticized idealizations and rhetoric without consequentially developing from them and predictably, means of censorship, thuggery and suppression.
PHILOSOPHY OF WISE GOVERNANCE, OR PHILOSOPHY OF ABSOLUTIST, NARCISSISTIC FANTASIES
The Fascists would resort to censorship to inculcate for example an inorganic or forced cultural renaissance utilizing national myths. However, in the Republic, citizens would have visibly public platforms to debate how to express what the spirit of that cultural renaissance would be. In Fascism, the aim is to rebuild or restoring ancient glory, whereas, in Republicanism (pre and post-revolutionary English), the view is similar in its spirit towards the ancients’ as is expressed in Theosophy.
“Many circumstances at present loudly call upon us to exert ourselves. Venality and corruption have well-nigh extinguished all principles of Liberty (…) One remedy for these evils is to revive the reading of our old Writers, of which we have good store, and the study whereof would fortify our youth against the blandishments of pleasure and the arts of Corruption.”—Thomas Hollis, Preface in The Works of John Milton (London, 1753), p. iv.
Therefore, it is focused on learning about and from the wisdom of the past to help fight against corruption and degeneration. In the U.S., this spirit and tradition is already there. It simply needs to be embodied, not merely intellectually elaborated upon, by thinkers with direct representative influence on the masses. Too many political actors in the arena with direct influence on the masses do not embody the wisdom and virtue that republican philosophy demands in even the most ardent and stubborn-minded.
Tocqueville complained in the 1830s that Americans did not understand their own system of republicanism, hence, the slide into political degeneration did not just begin some decades ago. The Americans are even further from understanding it today.
The ideals of the Fascists on authority are markedly divergent from the Republican and are directly rooted in historically contextual developments in ideas in Italy on Absolutism. One cannot be republican and democratic who adopts the habits of thought on authority as the Fascist, or the spoon-fed and fat-rich aristocrat. These very predictably corrupts the system, as the core of the system’s philosophy (or those who represent it) is to act as a defense against the faults that historically befall every nation and civilization, and the poisons of political corruption, slavery and despotism.
REPUBLICANISM, operating in the U.S. context also as a civic religion, has lineage and heritage, which cannot and must never be misconstrued or constricted to defining that heritage as the sole “Legacy of White People,” or the legacy of the “Hu-White” Anglo-Saxon Protestant.
What does the heritage of the universal idea of Rome mean? It does not mean the heritage of “White Men.” Italy is neither how the race realists dishonestly depict it, nor how the Fascists wished to. Before the imperial expansion of Rome, it was home to people from all over the Mediterranean. The United States is home to people from all over the world. The constructors of the U.S. system were fixated on observing the successes and failures of empires, dynasties and republics in their day and the past. The Fascists1 are motivated by their attitude and arguments about the weaknesses of modern democracy, liberalism and socialism but commit to the errors our system is defined directly against and must avoid. REPUBLICANISM heralds a philosophy with a lineage of wisdom more pertinent and precious than the Fascist, who mockingly calls our system “that mysterious religion” (Democracy’s Faith in the Potential of Man | Jewish American Horace M. Kallen).
- Many citizens of the present-day have fallen into their thinking, without having even read Fascist works, but exposed through Dark Enlightenment thinking, which is an insidious pessimism of a mocking tone. Some of these same Americans who do this claim to represent the “original intent of the Founders’,” or the “Revolution of 1776,” yet display no signs of real knowledge about the philosophy underlying the revolution, except very superficially through terms and buzzwords they repeat and subvert. In addition to this, they have built a repertoire of mocking terms, stealing phrases and terms with meanings quite relative to the aims and meaning of republicanism like “Stay ‘Woke‘” (a call of awareness, enlightenment and liberation), and now, “Black Fatigue” (originally about the real physical and psychological exhaustion by Black people dealing with racism, microaggressions and prejudice now used by racists or a means for White people or other races to express their exhaustion with Black peoples’ existence in society through crime statistics data and stereotypes of violence) ↩︎
